Styrum is located to the north-west of the city centre, continuing directly to the border with Oberhausen to the north. South of the railway tracks there are a number of houses dating from the industrial revolution, some of which have been restored. On Moritzstraße, bordering the MüGa 92 park, you will find two wonderful tourist attractions. Castle Styrum has been owned by the city for around 30 years, and houses a daycare centre and meeting place for older people. In the middle of the castle grounds, with their ancient trees and baroque garden, stands the former Aquarius water tower, which has been transformed into the ‘water museum’ experience world. Styrum enjoys a rail station, a link to the A40 motorway, trams, including taking you towards Oberhausen, and various bus routes.
