Extremely charming and unusual apartment split across two levels. Non-smoking property. The apartment in which you would be living is situated in the top storey of the former food store that belonged to the workers’ shop associated with the former Duisburg-Neumühl colliery.
The listed building is centrally located in the middle of the also listed Bergmannsplatz, a development of miners’ housing that was built at the same time. Parking spaces can be found directly next to the building, and shopping areas plus supermarket and discounter are around five minutes’ walk away.
The rent already includes the operating and heating costs, electricity is billed separately for the rental period.
A 14-day cleaning service (includes dusting, vacuuming, floor mopping, wet cleaning of the bathroom) is also included in the rental price.
Energy certificate details: Building constructed in: 1907, Energy consumption certificate, value: 146 kWh/(m²a), Energy source: natural gas.
Fine plaster walls. Floors partially real oak planking, partially tiled. Complete comfort thanks to its contemporary design, complete inventory and Wi-Fi internet access. The living room with loft atmosphere has a 4.2m high ceiling. A staircase leads from the living room to the sleeping area (with double bed) beneath the gable. Air conditioning can be used in the living room and the skylights can be darkened with thermostop blinds. There is a large seating area with a sleeping function and a Smart TV (146.1 cm (58″) with access to the Telekom-Magenta streaming service in the living room. The inviting dining kitchen offers a fitted kitchen featuring dishwasher, fridge, freezer, island unit and microwave with grill function etc. A large and attractive table with a view of the garden invites you to relax. If required, this can also be used as a desk. The bathroom features light-coloured tiles and offers a bath and shower. A washing machine and a condenser dryer as well as a clothes horse are available in the cellar.
Neumühl was named after the 14th century ‘new mill’, around which the district developed. Between 1899 and 1962, coal was mined from the Neumühl colliery. The Bergmannsplatz development of miners’ housing was built between 1899 and 1909. Today, the ‘Grüne Pfad’ (green path) cycling and walking trail runs over the course of the former railway line between Duisburg’s Ruhrort district and Dortmund.
Within walking distance of the apartment you will find a large marketplace, which hosts a twice-weekly market offering food and other items. The offer is rounded off by a shopping street featuring cafes, a post office, dispensing and non-dispensing chemists and various other businesses, along with a cash machine, supermarket and discounter. These are all within walking distance.
Transport: In just a few minutes’ drive you can reach the Oberhausen-Holten motorway access road (A2/A3), as well as that for Duisburg-Neumühl (A42) or Oberhausen-Buschhausen, close to the Oberhausen-West motorway intersection. From here, you can reach many of the surrounding towns and cities.
